Our Story-The Heart Behind Pool Table Professionals LLC.
Welcome to Pool Table Professionals LLC. We invite you to learn more about our journey, our passion for billiards, and the dedication behind the service we provide.
For more than 40 years, we have been committed to providing professional pool table moving, installation, repair, and restoration services with the personal attention and craftsmanship that only comes from decades of hands-on experience. How Did You Get Started in the Pool Table Business?
My journey in the billiard industry began in 1980 when I was just 15 years old. I started working for a company behind my home in St. Petersburg, Florida, called George's Pool Tables.
During my first year, my job was assisting with moving and setting up pool tables. It was hard work, but it gave me the opportunity to learn the foundation of the trade. During my second year, George began teaching me the more technical aspects of the business, including pool table assembly and re-felting. By the end of that year, I was confidently re-felting tables on my own.
When we weren't busy with customer work, I helped around the shop, learning every aspect of the billiard business. Over the next several years, I worked side by side with George, developing the skills, knowledge, and attention to detail that have guided me throughout my career.
It was also during this time that I met my wonderful wife, Cheri.
In 1985, after five years of experience, Cheri and I decided to open our own pool table business. A local billiard company we had been working with, Craftmaster Billiards in Clearwater, Florida, suggested the name "Joe's Pool Table Repair." While it wasn't the most creative name, it clearly explained exactly what we did.
Over the years, our company has grown and evolved into Pool Table Professionals LLC, but our commitment to quality workmanship and customer service has remained the same. Industry Relationships & Experience
Throughout our history, we have had the privilege of working with many respected billiard retailers and companies, including:

We have also partnered with major moving companies and specialty transportation providers, including:

Over the years, we have relocated our business from Brooksville to Orlando and ultimately settled on Florida's beautiful Space Coast. Despite those changes, our commitment to quality and attention to detail has allowed us to maintain a loyal customer base who continues to trust us wherever we are located. What Role Does Your Family Play in the Business?
I have always said that Cheri is the "brains" behind our business.
She manages many of the important details that keep our company running, including scheduling, bookkeeping, ordering inventory, website updates, social media, and managing accounts receivable and payable.
When you call our office, there is a good chance you will speak with Cheri. She knows our business inside and out and can answer many of the questions our customers have.
Outside of helping run Pool Table Professionals LLC, Cheri is also a dedicated Florida State Certified Paramedic and volunteers her spare time with a local horse rescue. She truly is my other half and an essential part of our success. Our son, Joe, has been part of the family business for as long as he can remember. Long before he was old enough to drive, he was spending weekends and summers alongside his dad, learning the trade one pool table at a time. By the age of seven, he was already handing over tools, helping assemble pool tables, and developing an appreciation for the craftsmanship and attention to detail that have always been the foundation of our business.
As he grew older, so did his responsibilities. Today, Joe plays an integral role in our company, bringing the same dedication, work ethic, and commitment to quality that have defined Pool Table Professionals LLC for more than four decades. It is incredibly rewarding to watch the next generation carry on the family tradition, and we look forward to seeing him continue serving our customers with the same pride and professionalism for many years to come.
What Is Your Favorite Part of Your Job?
The most rewarding part of my work is the opportunity to meet new people and provide exceptional service to families throughout Florida.
What makes this career special is knowing that we are helping create places where memories are made. A pool table becomes more than just furniture—it becomes a gathering place for family, friends, laughter, competition, and lasting memories. Why Does Your Work Stand Out?
We believe our difference comes from experience, craftsmanship, and personal service.
We don't simply complete a job and move on to the next customer. We take pride in treating every table with care and every customer with respect.
Our goal is not just to provide a service, but to provide an experience that leaves our customers confident they made the right choice. What Do You Wish Customers Knew About This Profession?
Many people don't realize how physically demanding pool table work can be.
A pool table is a precision piece of equipment made from heavy materials. Slate sections can weigh more than 150 pounds, and moving tables upstairs or through difficult spaces requires experience, proper equipment, and teamwork.
Florida summers add another challenge, with extreme heat and humidity making the work even more demanding. Despite the challenges, we take pride in doing the job correctly and safely. What Services Do You Provide?
Our most common services include:
Pool table movingPool table setup and installationPool table re-feltingPool table restorationPool table repairs and maintenance
Whether you need a table moved across the room, across town, or restored to its original beauty, we have the experience and knowledge to handle the job properly. What Question Do Customers Ask Most Often?
"Do you really have to completely disassemble a pool table to move it?"
For most home pool tables, the answer is yes.
A common misconception is that pool tables can simply be lifted and moved in one piece. Unfortunately, attempting this can damage the table, affect the leveling, and potentially cause injury. Proper disassembly and professional reassembly are essential to protecting your investment. What Are the Latest Trends in the Billiard Industry?
One of the newest trends is custom logo pool table cloth. Customers can now choose cloth featuring their favorite sports team logo, pet photos, or custom designs.
While these options are visually appealing, we recommend carefully considering the playing performance. Many logo cloths use polyester materials that do not perform like traditional wool-blend billiard cloth.
For customers who want a customized look while maintaining excellent playability, we recommend using a quality pool table cover featuring the desired logo or design instead.
